why wont my jackson sl3 hold its tune, even though its got a double locking floyd rose trem?

i put it in its case with the trem attatched, and then i take it out a while later and now it wont hold its tune, it goes flat, even though i lock the nuts and everything! please help!!
ok so i’ve heard that before, about detatching the trem wen putting it in the case, but what can i do to remedy the situation?

Well, if you locked it down, then the “keys” as someone put it, machine heads will not be the problem.
More than likely, by you closing the case with the trem attached, you have strecthed the springs in the trem.
But there are many other reasons for falling out of tune, especially flat.
For example, if you just put new strings on it before you put it in the case, then you closed it with trem, you did not have any pressure on your strings, so when you got it out, your new strings have not stretched. So to fix this, unlock the lock nuts, tune up the guitar with the machine heads, and not the floyd rose trem. Then start stretching your strings. Then retune and see if it holds tune any better.
If not, then you have knocked the guitar out of intonation, this will require some knowledge to fix, but is simple enough to do if you have a tuner handy.
I’ll post some links to learn more about intonation. But I strongly recommend you take it to a guitar shop, unless you can set the intonation yourself with ease.

Jackson soloist guitars are extremely well built, so I am go to go with you have knocked it out of intonation. Also what most people do not tell you, if you change strings, and use a different guage than what you had before, you will probably need to adjust the intonation again. It is a very simple process once you have learned it, I am just not sure the Soloist is the guitar you will want to learn on.

Hope this helps.

Anyone know where I can get a black tremolo/tailpiece for a Fender Jaguar?

i have a modded SX SJM-S62 that has jaguar switching on it. And if you know what they look like you know they have the jag/jazzmaster trem piece. My git is supposed to be all black and yellow like batman but that fucking tailpiece is killing it!

my tuners are black, my pickguard is black, it has a black graphite bridge, black tuners and yellow humbuckers even the nut is black graphite. but that chrome tailpiece sticks out like a dick in a vagina line up…

I checked WDMUSIC.com and I checked Warmoth.com, anybody got another suggestion?

Oh and if anybody has a Lefty Fender Mustang, Jag-Stang or Hagstrom III are you interested in a trade for a Lefty Eastwood Airline 3PDLX with hardshell case?

Try Allparts.com or Stewmac.com, they should have something :]
