Don’T Be Intimidated By Piano Chords And Scales
Are you learning to play the piano like me? The most challenging part for any beginner is conquering the piano chords and scales. Whenever multiple notes are being played together, this is called a piano chord. These chords are then played in an order to help create a melody, and from this melody comes beautiful music. So don’t be intimidated by the chords, we need them!
As you advance your playing skills, you will master various types of piano chords. Therefore, the more you understand about them, the more variety you can enjoy while playing. To go a step further, if you wrote your own music, you will not only need to be able to identify the individual tunes, but have a good idea of how to bring them together.
There are many advanced courses you can take online to further your understanding and proficiency playing piano chords. Learning new piano chords and scales is something you can discuss with your private instructor if you are fortunate enough to have one. Either way, this mastery of piano chords is what distinguishes many budding pianist over their peers.
There is a level playing field learning piano chords and scales. Every piano only has 88 keys. so it just comes down to practice. For example, how long does it take you to think of what keys to press when sending an email, or posting on your blog? Not only that, but you can press the right key to create upper case and lower case as well.
In the same way, you will begin to realize which keys when pressed in concert produce a certain chord. While you are learning piano, you will cover some basic chords and begin to recognize their unique sound when you hear it. As you continue, you will begin to identify individual chords immediately by ear.
Now, more than ever there are many ways to help you to learn the chords. In addition to a private instructor, there are many online courses that offer ebooks, tutorials, videos (which I find most helpful), and interactive online exercises. The main idea is to get really good recognizing the unique sound of each chord. The possession of this skill will help you grow as a pianist faster than any other skill.
To become a pianist, one must demonstrate proficiency in playing all of the piano chords and scales. There is no short cut. But it gets easier and easier with practice. It may require patience, but there is no substitute for the ability to command the piano chords.
