What is the best English major that I can read books begginners psychology?

Go to the university sites and find their way in the introduction to psychology and see this text, they recommend. My only use the textbook (as well as an old edition 3 years ago ..): Peter Gray. Psychology. 5th ed. Worth Publishers, 2007. From what I remember it was good. I spent a lot by simply reading it if it were significant too hard to understand:)
